Tony Romo To Sign Six year Extension

Tony Romo and his agents will announce Tuesday that he will be signing a six year sixty million dollar extension with 30 million of it being guaranteed. This is probably a good time to get him locked up for many reasons. one is by signing him before Nov. 5 some of the money will go against the 2007 salary cap. The other is you want to get him locked in so he can concentrate on football.

Romo has earned the money and deserves what he got. Now he can just worry about his performance on the field and nothing else. This is a win-win situation for both parties involved.

Bill Parcells vs Wade Phillips

You almost hear it from every man that having Wade Phillips is a lot better than having Bill Pacells. they site Phillips is more laid back where Parcells you had to walk on eggshells. I find that hard to believe, but it seems every player is saying that though. The bottom line is it doesn't matter who is coaching you still have to make plays. Parcells have won everywhere he went with his system.

Wade Phillips has been successful, but haven't been able to get over the hump his whole career. I guess this maybe the best chance for him. We will have to wait and see how well he does with the Cowboys this years when bad things happen.

NFL Network And The Cowboys

I usually don't go off topic with the Cowboys, of course this does effect many Cowboy fans so I thought I would put my two cents in. Many Dallas Cowboy fans don't live in Dallas area, in fact they are scattered all over the world. The NFL Network which is going to take over all the games eventually though only show a few games a year right now. Direct TV is the partner for the NFL Network and they show almost all the games for them.

Many Cowboy fans such as myself don't want to switch from cable to Direct TV for various reasons. I tried and I can't anyways as they have told me where I live I couldn't get a signal anyways. The biggest problem is many Cowboy fans without the NFL Network or Direct TV access will miss the Green Bay packers vs the Dallas Cowboys game. This isn't very fair, but a reality. I think that really sucks, but it's the future of the NFL. So, other teams fans be prepared if you don't have the NFL Network or Direct TV you could get shut out too.

Cowboys Get Bye This Week

The Dallas Cowboys are on a bye week which means it's Cowboys withdraw symptoms for Cowboy fans. I will try and keep you busy with my blog though. The Cowboys have a tough second half of the season and it starts with the Philadelphia Eagles and the New York Giants back to back. The Giants are really playing well and that will be a very tough game.

Many people are overlooking the Eagles, but they need a win to get back in the division race. Look for them to play tough as it's always hard to get a win in Philadelphia no matter how they are playing. The Cowboys have their work cut out for themselves.

Patriots 48 Cowboys 27

Tom Brady threw 5 touchdown passes and the Dallas Cowboys defense got shredded all day long as new England ended Dallas unbeaten string at five games. Dallas just couldn't stop the New England Patriots at all. Once you get behind against New England it's real tough to try and play catch up. I have to give props to the Patriots who showed why they are one of the best around.

The Cowboys need to regroup as they have a tough game against Minnesota coming up. Romo played well, but not great. I guess we will just have to wait and see how well they play next week. I'm sure Minnesota will look at the film and try some things that Patriots did against the Cowboys.

Tony Romo's Up And Down Ride

Tony Romo has had many up and down rides since he has been Dallas Cowboys quarterback. Maybe the toughest one lies ahead as he announced his dad is battling prostate cancer. Tony and his dad is very close and this is hard for a son to take.

Having your dad battle cancer while your trying to win games is tough. Knowing Tony though it will give him even more resolve to play better than ever. Look for Romo to give it his all even more now. Let's pray Tony's dad gets a full recovery and can watch his son play for a very long time.

Roger Staubach Is Your Winner

Time To Name our Dallas Cowboys All-Time Quarterback and it was tough competition, but the winner is Roger Staubach. He had stiff competition form Troy Aikman, Danny White, and Craig Morton. Staubach was the perfect Dallas quarterback who had speed talent and the desire you want to see in a Dallas Cowboys quarterback. The other ones were very good but Roger gets the nod.

I do want to say one thing about Danny White. White was a very good quarterback and had to follow in Staubach shoes and no matter what he did it was never good enough. White was very good in his own right and probably doesn't get the respect and admiration he should. Here we believe he was a very good quarterback and should stand up there with the elite quarterbacks.

Dallas Cowboys All-Time Quarterback

Well this year I've decided it's time to start an All-Time team in which we will pick people for every position. I would also like your input as readers of the Dallas Cowboys Blogging Network and hear your opinions. Today we are going to start with the quarterback position. Our nominee's are:

1. Troy Aikman
2. Roger Staubach
3. Danny White
4. Craig Morton

Who is your favorite. Get your votes in now and tomorrow we will have our first player on the Cowboys All-Time Team.

T.O. Passes A Note To Reporters

You always have to give Terrell Owens credit for things he does on and off the field to keep the spotlight on him and his Cowboys. T.O. didn't really have the greatest game in the world on Monday and dropped some key passes, but it always seems that he steps up when it counts the most. His note he left for reporters was no comments until after the game and he would than talk about the other no. 81 from the original no. 81.

This is how T.O. is he always has something interesting for the press or the fans. He also said get the popcorn ready and enjoy. This should be a very exciting game and with T.O. and Randy Moss the centers of attention this should be very good.

Tony Romo vs Tom Brady

This should be a very interesting matchup. You have Tom Brady who everyone considers the best in the NFL right now. Then toss in Tony Romo who has more of the Brett Favre type of play and you have the makings for a great shootout in Texas. Toss in T.O. and Randy Moss and you have the makings of an instant classic.

Romo is probably looking forward to this game after the debacle on Monday Night in Buffalo. I look for Tony to bounce back and play extremely well. Romo knows he can't turn the ball over if the Cowboys are going to win. Watch these three guys as they will be key to a Cowboys win.

Jason Witten needs to have a big game. T.O. will have a big game as he felt he let his teammates down Monday night. Julius Jones needs to have a good day also. The Cowboys must be able to run the ball if they want any chance of winning this game.
